ABOUT KPACIDD

In the year 1978 a few parents of children with Intellectual and developmental disabilities came together in Bangalore to form an Association.
The objective of the association was to try and support these children to lead Independent lives in an inclusive environment.
KPACIDD was registered under the Societies Act on May 26, 1979.
  • The Association has come a long way over these 44 years and is responsible to create adequate manpower to provide necessary training for their wards and also assist the parents and relatives on a continuous basis by way of counselling and guidance.
  • KPACIDD realized that there was an urgent need for special educators to educate and train the children to empower them.
  • KPACIDD pioneered the Teacher Training Program when no other organization nor the government in the country was even thinking about it.
